My writing group friend Molly said it yesterday—“first blog posts are weird.”
They ARE weird, I agree. It feels weird say hey world, it’s me, over here.
Here I am saying it though, and this is why: I like to write words. I like to take a thing and write my way through it, make sense out of the scattered pieces of it. I like written things that communicate an idea in a compelling way. I want to help people do exactly that if they don’t know how or don’t have time. That’s why I’m a copywriter. I want to bring beautiful things into existence.
I’m not only a copywriter, though, I’m also just a plain writer. I like to see the stories happen in normal days, watch the little themes that run through average moments and then try to capture them on a page, in words. It’s not that easy. It’s also something I love. So I’m trying.
This blog will probably wander around. I’ll write some about marriage (because I’m married and I love it) some about running (because running keeps me sane) some about community (because community is life itself) and some about business (because I’m starting one). I’ll probably also write a lot about trying to walk with Jesus as He redeems the broken creation and my own small life, because I see it happening everywhere my eyes land.
So that’s why I’m shouldering through this first blog post. Just want to say hey, it’s me, and I’m trying to be part of the beautiful thing God is making the world. I’m here to serve you if I possibly can. I want to write in a way that gives you air and reminds you of goodness.
You’re welcome here.
It’s an honor to have you read my words.
