Have you ever sat down to write copy for your website and just felt completely stuck? HOW can you connect with your clients, you wonder? What do they need to know? Half the time, you stare blankly at your web page, jot down a few things, and feel totally unsatisfied and disconnected.
Here’s what you should know:
If you don’t know what to say, start with the most basic details that actually feel boring to you.
One of the most common problems I see with website copy is that often important information is completely missing.
The IG bio has some fancy words, but I can’t find your name anywhere.
You’re a photographer, I can see that much from your website… but I can’t find any copy that tells me where you’re from.
Your sales page has some glowing reviews, but I search and search for copy that actually will tell me what your offer will give me.
Do you get the picture?
Write copy that tells who you are, what you do, where you do it from, and what result you give to your clients… and then build off of that.
But start with the details you know like the back of your hand.
Because your clients don’t.
