If you’ve been around Studio Tell for a minute or two, you know how much I have learned from the founders of the Heart University and the Heart and Hustle Podcast. I had followed Evie and Lindsey for a while already when they first launched their podcast… and listening to their episode with Ashlyn Carter is actually what inspired me to take on the world of writing copy for creative businesses. I got to attend their beautiful Heart Conference at the end of 2023, and have coached with Evie off and on for a couple of years. We’ve connected through coaching and lots of in between messages through some hard seasons of life for both of us.
I give you all that background information just to give you an idea of how sweet this project was. This spring I had the honor of helping Evie with the copy part of her beautiful rebrand. I love working with friends that I have known for years… it brings an extra personal, understanding touch to the project.
Evie has been a brilliant photographer since the very beginning, but in the last couple years has settled into a much slower, custom, luxury style of photography. She’s already an experienced copywriter, so I mostly came in with extra background work, audits, and brainstorms (and yes, of some of the actual copy on her brand new website!).
(Side note: this project is the perfect example of how hiring Studio Tell for copywriting doesn’t have to be a one size fits all process! Every single business is different, and while I do offer standard copy packages, I also almost always am willing to tweak my larger packages to fit your needs as perfectly as possible.)
Evie had already drafted copy for most of her home page and education coaching page, so I mostly focused on writing her about page and then scheming up the best copy for her photography investment page. She gave me so much valuable information to work with with extensive answers to my questionnaire, and we had a couple of long video calls to talk through questions and revisions.
It was a whirlwind of a project as we were on a tight deadline, but it was such a joy to help articulate a brand I look up to so much! Helping craft words for thoughtful, artistic brands like Evie’s is one of my favorite things in the world, and reminded me why I love writing copy for such brilliant creatives.
Here’s what she said at the end of the project:
“Working with Abby was an absolute dream. From start to finish, she brought such intentionality, care, and creative brilliance to every single word of my website copy. What really stood out to me was her commitment… Not just to the end product, but to me as her client. She truly cared about making sure the copy felt like me, resonated with my audience, and reflected the heart and soul of my brand. Her process is deeply personalized, hands-on, and full of integrity. Nothing about it felt slimy, salesy, or templated.
She approaches copywriting from an ethical standpoint that honors both the business owner and the people they’re serving, which is something I value so deeply. She has a genuine gift with words, able to capture depth, nuance, warmth, and clarity in ways that feel both poetic and strategic. I’ve gotten so many compliments on my new site already, and I know her copy is a huge part of what’s making people pause, feel something, and inquire.
If you’re looking for a copywriter who is not only wildly talented but also deeply thoughtful, I can’t recommend Abby of Studio Tell enough. One of the best investments you could possibly make for your business!”
